In this paper is offered an introduction to the debate between realism and antirealism in the Philosophy of Language, which originates mainly whithin the analytical tradition A general examination is carried out with regard Donald Davison 's programme according to which. The rather optimistic belief of Michael Dummett in this respect is also referred to; this is the belief that the disputes between realism and anti-realism can be approached and eventually solved with the help of a Theory of Meaning.References
