NIETZSCHE AND THE CONTROVERSY WITH FOUILLÉE

The following paper describes in a documented way the controversy between Nietzsche's and Fouillée's thought. The center of this rivalry, which increased after Nietzsche's death when his annotations and some fragments were made public, is to be found in the negative judgments about «sociability», parisian sociology and about the supposedly saving repercussions of science and knowledge. In the serious dispute about which is life's motor (<<sociability» versus <<increase-fight») important arguments intermingle with visceral and offensive comments. However, inquiring into the controversy reveals that what prompts the two philosophers to criticize each other is not their dilettante's spirit, but their real effort to explain reality. The paper ends with one chapter of Fouillée's Le moralisme de Kant et l 'amoralisme contemporain, translated for the first time into Spanish.References
