POLITICAL WORK REFLECTED THROUGH THE MIRROR OF AGAPETOS DEACON

The present article sets out to analize Agapetos the Deacon's Exposition of Heads of Advice from the vantage point of political philosophy. The speech was proferred before Emperor Justinian, byzantine basileus of the sixth century and belongs to the Mirror of Princes rhetorical genre. The Deacon's exhortation constitutes a relevant contribution to the political doctrine of good governance, specially suited for the current climate of politics conceived merely as technique devoid of any ethical or anthropological foundations.References
