Resumen

Este trabajo hace una presentación general de los debates contemporáneos acerca de los mundos posibles. Luego de explicar cómo es que la semántica de mundos posibles apareció en lógica modal, se discuten brevemente algunas aplicaciones de la noción: (i) la distinción entre nombres propios y descripciones; (ii) el problema mente-cuerpo; y (iii) la existencia de Dios. En la última parte, las metafísicas posibilista y actualista son contrastadas, haciendo énfasis en las limitaciones de las diferentes propuestas.
