HISTORICO-NATURAL KNOWLEDGE. A PROPOSAL INSPIRED BY THE EPISTEMOLOGY OF JACQUES MARITAIN

Based on the epistemological guidelines developed by Jacques Maritain, we intend to clarify the status of paleontology and other like disciplines. From these foundations, we argue that this kind of inquiry, due to its past and contingent object and its interpretative methodology, constitutes a specific epistemological type, different from that of science, here classified as historico-natural.
