The present article seeks to analyze, by way of St. Augustine, the first and most fundamental of experiences derived from the coti dies, i.e. the experience of time and of the temporality of self, which is not a mere psychological verification, but a profoundly metaphysical and trascendent fact that remits us directly to our condition of created beings. Thus, our exposition will focus on weighting the implications for man of his apprehension of the reality of time and ofthat shadow of eternity which is the instant qua captured by the distentio animi, as the Saint expresses in Confessions, XI.References
