This paper focuses on the opening of Aristotle's Politics (I 1-2) from the perspective of an epistemology of political science. In a way which substantially differs from the doxa of aristotelian scholarship on this work, it aims to prove that the definition of the pólis as the main theoretical object of political science can only be understood properly in light of the research program outlined by Aristotle in the Posterior Analytics.References
