THE SKEPTICISM OF ST. AUGUSTINE IN CONTRA ACADEMICOS

In Cicero's Hortensius, Augustine found an undeniable call to search for the truth through philosophy, marking the beginning of his intellectual path. However, this journey wasn't free from trouble, such as facing the 'false' truth of the Manichaeans, or the Academic skepticism, to name a few. In view of its important connection with the truth, this work intends to show the relation of the young, and newly converted, Augustine with the skepticism of the New Academy and, therefore, with the truth in the light of his first work Contra Academicos, which, we will see, it is less adverse than might be supposed.References
